Six-word Stories

Posted: February 24, 2014 in Uncategorized

This post is inspired by the tale that Ernest Hemingway supposedly won a bet by writing a six word story: For sale: baby shoes. Never worn.
Whether or not the tale is true, I’ve always loved this story. So here is a collection of six word stories, in many different genres. It’s a very liberating format to write in, despite (and because of) the constraints.

He’s never really been the same.

A prisoner, I see many things.

I have never regretted anything more.

It would have been better not to.

They never warned me of danger.

That bird stole my glass eye.

Things soured, so I left everything.

Stop him! He’s sure to re-offend!

Stay far away from such evil.

I watched life leave his eyes.

Again I’m in the wrong room.

He never spoke those words aloud.

It is behind me. Someone please–

I’ve never known so much power.

Breathlessly I opened the musty tome.

My transformation is very nearly complete.

It’s there, hiding in her eyes.

Closed his eyes, pulled the trigger.

It’s too much. So I left.

I speak; the room grows quiet.

Fire burnt the man he was.

Everything seemed smaller when I returned.

Finally, I’ll see the sky again.

It came from the other direction.

No one lives in that house.

Something cold just brushed my neck.

Best not to awaken him.

Hopefully that’s the last of them.

We had only two hours left.

I’ve never seen so much blood.

Made bad wish; It came true.

Why do I have three legs?

He hasn’t noticed anything strange yet.

Earthling, take me to your leader.

So I was working on editing all the video of the recent concert, and stumbled upon this website (do not ask how those two things were related). It so inspired me that I am now blogging about it whilst sitting on the floor.
The long and the short of it is that this site is incredibly awesome. It is a web-based audio sequencer with a vast library of pre-recorded loops. I do not know of all it’s capabilities, as I have only known of it’s existence for 7 short minutes. Those 7 minutes have been filled with my constant gleeful laughter. The compositions you can sling together on this site are something I might describe as ‘epic’, had not the adjective been overused and consequently destroyed by a crowd of internet…..ers.
In all seriousness though: check out this site. It seems like the perfect source for quick video soundtracking and the like.
I fully intend to spend long bouts of time with this site. I will link any creations I come up with.

Edit: They also have a totally bangin’ drum sequencer. Seriously.

It seems I go through more drafts and revisions of blog updates than I do for GMG songs. Currently trying to push out a big long update post. Please stay tuned.

I am not a jerk

Posted: April 3, 2011 in Uncategorized

A Gunmetal Grey fan (come up with a clever name for yourselves!) recently informed me that he was somewhat influenced by the theme of this blog, as he had come across another one on the internet which used the same one, and was written by a “huge jerk”. I am not that guy.
Also, I just realized that I have no complete collection of all the songs on Hellfire and Half-Measure in any one place. Hrm.

1) That’s cool.
2) The rest of you who visit need to listen to songs in multiples of 100 to keep making steady progress in landmarks like this, without breaking the coolness of an even number like 100.

Please note this is not the great important thing I was going to blog about yesterday. But for now I need to learn about Charles Manson.

Farewell.

THE BANE OF BLOGGING

I WAS GOING TO POST SOMETHING IMPORTANT HERE BUT I FORGOT WHAT AND I DON’T HAVE TIME TO REMEMBER.

Blogging is annoying.
Night all.

Edit: Of course, I’ll remember when I’m trying to sleep which will then keep me up as ideas build and swirl like a self-continuing vortex of thought. Then I’ll get up tomorrow, all ready to post, but the ideas will seem stale and half-remembered.

Edit Edit: This conundrum can also apply to ANYTHING. Like…..MAKING MUSIC.
